Taking on Wisconsin unions made Walker a conservative star and fundraising heavyweight
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker announced Monday morning on Twitter that he is running for the Republican nomination for president, saying, “I’m in. I’m running for president because Americans deserve a leader who will fight and win for them.” --Walker will give a speech kicking off his campaign Monday evening in Waukesha, Wis., becoming one of seven current or former Republican governors to enter the 2016 race — and the only one to survive a recall election in his own state.

Chris Christie Announces 2016 Presidential Campaign With Swipes At Obama, Hillary Clinton
Chris Christie is running for president, he announced today at his alma mater, Livingston High School in New Jersey, becoming the 14th Republican candidate to enter the 2016 presidential race. --"America is tired of handwringing and indecisiveness and weakness in the Oval Office," the New Jersey governor said today to a cheering crowd. "We need to have strength and decision-making and authority back in the Oval office and that is why today I am proud to announce my candidacy for the Republican nomination for president of the United States of America."

Donald Trump is running for president, on the promise that he will 'bring back' the American dream. The multi-billionaire businessmen announced his shot at the White House Tuesday morning, surrounded with gold, mirrors and polished marble in a midtown Manhattan skyscraper named after himself. And straight after his announcement he suggested he could pile in even more celebrity to the Trump ticket - by bringing Oprah with him to the White House as Vice President.

Video indicates Pataki to run for 2016 GOP presidential nomination
Former New York Gov. George Pataki confirmed in a video early Thursday that he would seek the 2016 Republican nomination for president. --The three-and-a-half-minute video posted to his campaign website featured an anti-big government message, "Washington has grown too big, too powerful, too expensive, and too intrusive," and highlighted Pataki's role as governor of New York following the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Lincoln Chafee: 'I'm running' and here's why
Former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee said Thursday on CNN that he's running for the Democratic nomination for president, just a week after announcing he formed an exploratory committee, his most definitive statement he's made toward formalizing a 2016 campaign. "Yes, that's why I'm running. Because I feel strong about where we're going as a country," Chafee told CNN's "New Day" on Thursday, when asked why he's been so critical of Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. Chafee was asked by CNN's John Berman in the context of having not formally declared his presidential campaign.
