Chris Christie said that because he lacks the confidence in the Obama Administration’s vetting ability, he would not allow any Syrian refugees into America — not even “orphans under the age of five.”Appearing on The Hugh Hewitt Show on Monday, Christie said, “The fact is, that we need for appropriate vetting and I don’t think orphans under five should be admitted into the United States at this point." --It is “shameful” that Obama doesn’t understand the president’s first job is to “protect the safety and the security of the American people,” said Christie.

Carson: Syria plan would focus on Putin
Washington (CNN)Ben Carson laid out his plan for handling war-torn Syria on Sunday, with a heavy focus on Russian President Vladimir Putin. --"My much bigger plan involves, you know, Putin and Iran also," Carson said on ABC's "This Week" Sunday. "Those are the forces that are propping up the Assad regime. And even though Putin came in there and said he was going to fight ISIS, he's really fighting the anti-Assad forces. Carson: Terrorists 'would be fools' not to try infiltrating refugees
GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson said on Friday that he opposes admitting Syrian refugees inside America’s borders. --“To bring into this country groups infiltrated with jihadists makes no sense,” he told listeners in Des Moines, according to ABC News. --“At some point you have to use common sense and judgment,” Carson said. Republican candidate Kasich to call for no-fly zones in Syria
U.S. Republican presidential candidate John Kasich on Friday morning will advocate for certain areas of Syria to be designated as sanctuaries from violence for civilians and made no-fly zones given Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent decision to target Islamic State there with air strikes. According to a statement provided to Reuters, the Ohio governor will say: "Russia's recent military build-up and intervention in Syria are neither intended to defeat ISIS nor to relieve the suffering of Syrian refugees. Mr. Putin's real goals are quite different: to take military action to rescue Assad's criminal government from its death and to strengthen Russia's strategic position in the Eastern Mediterranean. This is unacceptable and must stop."
