Kentucky Governor's Race Close in the Stretch

Democrat Jack Conway holds a very slim lead over Republican Matt Bevin as Kentucky’s gubernatorial campaign enters its final three weeks. Statewide, 43% of likely voters currently support Conway, while 41% back Bevin, 6% are for independent Drew Curtis and 10% are undecided. --Conway has a slightly better positive name recognition ratio. Statewide, 42% have a favorable opinion of him and 30% having an unfavorable view. Bevin’s ratio is a bit lower at 39% favorable and 34% unfavorable.

Rand Paul: Kentucky Clerk Should Not Have to Approve Gay Marriage Licenses

Rand Paul said he supports a county clerk from his home state for standing her ground against granting marriage licenses for same-sex couples, saying there should be room "for people to exercise their religious beliefs and not be told they have to do something they find morally objectionable." --"I have never been opposed to contracts between consenting adults," Paul told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" co-host Bill Hemmer. "But I am very much sympathetic to the idea that an individual shouldn't have to sign or give their stamp of approval that they object to."

No matter where you stand on this, can we come together for a moment and acknowledge the plain truth of this point by Dan McLaughlin?
If elected Democrat Kim Davis was doing this to the death penalty, drug or immigration laws, or voter ID laws, they'd hail her as a hero.

Bevin and other Republicans show unity as Democrats remind voters of past comments on GOP nominee

Standing in the namesake building of his foe in last year’s U.S. Senate primary, Republican gubernatorial nominee Matt Bevin said Friday any perceived grudges in the GOP are overstated. --Bevin headlined a press conference at Republican Party of Kentucky headquarters featuring other GOP candidates for constitutional office, hoping to demonstrate party unity ahead of a state Lincoln Day dinner in Lexington on Saturday. --Agriculture Commissioner James Comer, who conceded the race Friday after a recanvass showed no change in Bevin’s 83-vote margin of victory, promised in a statement to “do everything I can to see that he wins in November.”

Team McConnell isn’t about to just let Matt Bevin become governor

Businessman Matt Bevin is the guy some see moving up in the Kentucky GOP governor's primary. Bevin also challenged now-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in a primary last year. --These two things are not distinct from one another. Now that Bevin's chances appear to be on the rise in the May 19 primary (thanks to Agriculture Commissioner James Comer's problems), here comes Team McConnell to knock him down a peg or two.
